1. Northern Solstice – On 21st June, the sunrays directly fall on the tropic of cancer and due to it northern hemisphere is too hot and days are larger. This situation is known northern solstice.
2. Southern Solstice – On 22nd December, the sunrays fall directly on the Tropic of Capricorn. Due to it southern hemisphere becomes hot while northern hemisphere is cold. The days in southern hemisphere are larger. This situation is known southern solstice.
