Let the required number be x.

Then, according to question,

\(\frac{15-x}{19-x} = \frac{5}{7}\)

⇒ 7(15 – x) = 5(19 – x)

⇒ 105 – 7x = 95 – 5x

⇒ – 7x + 5x = 95 – 105

⇒ – 2x = – 10

⇒ x = -10/-2

⇒ x = 5

Hence, the required number is 5.
