Find out the value of (i) 6x2 + 2x – 4 and (ii) x+ 6x – 2 if x = 2.

(i) In 6x2 + 2x – 4 put x = 2

6x2 + 2x – 4 = 6(2)2 + 2(2) – 4
= 6 x 4 + 4 – 4
= 24 + 4 – 4
= 28 – 4 = 24

(ii) In x3 + 6x – 2 put x = 2

x3 + 6x – 2 = (2) + 6(2) – 2
= 8 + 12 – 2
= 20 – 2
= 18
