Best answer

(i) 3x – 7 = 5

Putting x = 5, 3 × 5 – 7 = 5

⇒ 15 – 7 = 5 ⇒ 8 = 5

Thus, given equations does not satisfy for x = 5.

(ii) 3p + 2 = 8

Putting p = 2, 3 × 2 + 2 = 8

⇒ 6 + 2 = 8 ⇒ 8 = 8

Thus, given equation satisfy for p = 2.
