FeSO4.7H2O is green in colour and loses water of crystallisation when it is heated.

It is then decomposed to Fe3O, (brown coloured), SO2 and SO3  

FeSO4.7H2O + Heat→ FeSO4 + 7H2O

2FeSO4  (s)+Heat → FeSO4 +SO2(g) +SO3(g)
