Best answer

Given pair of linear equations is

2/x + 3/y = 13 .....(i)

And 5/x - 4/y = -2 ....(ii)

On multiplying Eq. (i) by 5 and Eq. (ii) by 2 to make the coefficients of x equal, we get the equation as

On subtracting Eq. (iii) from Eq. (iv), we get

On putting y = 1/2 in Eq. (ii), we get

Hence, x = 1/3 and y = 1/2 , which is the required solution.
