Best answer

n = 2 moles

Vi = 500 ml = 0.5 lit

Vf = 2 lit

T = 25°C = 298 K

w = -2.303 nRT log\((\frac{V}{V_i})\)

w = -2.303 x 2 x 8.314 x 298 x log\(\frac{2}{0.5}\)

w = -2.303 x 2 x 8.314 x 298 x log(4)

w = -2.303 x 2 x 8.314 x 298 x 0.6021

w = -6871 J

w =-6.871 kJ.
