Let the line segment A(1, -5) and B(-4, 5) is divided at point P(x,0) by x-axis in ratio m:n

Here, (x, y) = (x, 0); (x1, y1) = (1, -5) and (x2, y2) = (-4, 5)

Hence, the ratio is 1:1 and the division is internal.

Now,

Hence, the coordinates of the point of division is (-3/2, 0)
