Best answer

Speed of boat in still water = 6 km/hr

Time taken by boat to move upstream = 3 hours

∴ Speed of boat upstream = \(\frac63\) km/hr = 2 km/hr

Let the speed of the current be \(x\) km/hr.

Then, 6 – \(x\) = 2 ⇒ \(x\) = 4 km/hr.
