b) 34.36

c) 36.82

d) 42.24

2. The upper limit of modal class is

a) 15

b) 25

c) 35

d) 45

3. The mean of the given data is

a) 26.2

b) 32.4

c) 33.5

d) 35.4

Refer to table 2

4. The mode of the given data is

Best answer

1. c) 36.82

Modal class = Interval with highest frequency

= 35 - 45

where l = lower limit of modal class = 35

h class-interval = 15 - 5=10

f1 frequency of the modal class = 23

f0 frequency of class before modal class = 21

f2 frequency of class after modal class = 14

Putting values in formula

2. d) 45

Modal class is class with highest frequency

Since 35-45 has highest frequency 23

∴ It is the modal class

And Upper limit of Modal Class = 45

3. d) 35.4

4. a) 41.4

Modal class = Interval with highest frequency

= 35 - 45

where l = lower limit of modal class = 35

h = class-interval = 15 - 5= 10

f1 = frequency of the modal class = 42

f0 = frequency of class before modal class = 10

f2 = frequency of class after modal class = 24

Putting values in formula

5. b) 40.2

And,

1 = lower limit of median class = 35

h = class-interval = 15 - 5 = 10

cf = cumulative frequency of the class before median class = 34

f = frequency of the median class = 42

Putting values in formula
