Given: Point (- 4,3) and line 4(x + 5) = 3(y – 6)

To find: The distance of the point (- 4, 3) from the line 4(x + 5) = 3(y – 6)

Formula used: We know that the distance between a point P (m,n) and a line ax + by + c = 0 is given by,

The equation of the line is 4x + 20 = 3y – 18

4x – 3y + 38 = 0

Here m = - 4 and n = 3 , a = 4 , b = - 3 , c = 38

The distance of the point (- 4, 3) from the line 4(x + 5) = 3(y – 6) is 13/5 units
