Two forces \(\vec F_1\) and \(\vec F_2\) act on a 2 kg mass. If = 10 N and = 5 N, find the acceleration.

Apply Newton’s second law of motion. 

Acceleration, as we already know, will be in the direction of the net force and hence will have magnitude as given by

Further, if the resultant force is at angle α with \(\vec F_1\)

Therefore acceleration is 2.5 3m / sec at an angle 30 with the direction of \(\vec F_1\)
