A statement of Assertion (A) is given followed by a corresponding statement of Reason (R) just below it/of the statements, mark the correct answer as 

(A) If both assertion and reason are true and reason is the correct explanation of assertion. 

(B) If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of assertion. 

(C) If assertion is true but reason is false. 

(D) If assertion is false but reason is true. 

(E) If both assertion and reason are false.

Assertion: Centripetal and centrifugal forces cancel each other 

Reason: This is because they are always equal and opposite.

(D) If assertion is false but reason is true.

Concept of centrifugal force comes into picture only in a non-inertial frame. So, both of them cannot co-exist in a same frame.

Although it is true that they are equal and opposite they can’t cancel each other because of this.
