Correct Answer - Option 2 : Use of aspirin with viral illness.

Concept:-

  • Reye's syndrome is associated with the use of aspirin to treat a viral illness or infection.
  • Reye's syndrome usually occurs in children who have recently had a viral infection such as chickenpox or viral flu.
  • Taking aspirin to treat this type of infection greatly increases the risk of Reye's syndrome.
  • Reye's syndrome is a disorder that causes liver and brain damage. While it can occur at any age, it is more commonly seen in children than adults.

  • Biliary colic is a dull pain that occurs when a gallstone is being passed and is blocking a bile duct, typically the middle to the upper right area comes and goes in a fairly regular pattern in the abdomen.
  • Sickle cell crisis is a condition in which red blood cells are not shaped like a biconcave disc. But in sickle cell disease, they are instead sickle, or half-moon shaped. The sickle-shaped red blood cells clump together and block the small blood vessels that carry blood to vital organs.
  • A hemolytic transfusion reaction occurs when red blood cells(RBC) are destroyed by the individual's immune system during transfusion.
