Correct Answer - Option 2 : (A + 6)/4

Calculation:

Let the integers be x, x + 1, x + 2, x + 3

⇒ Sum of all integers = x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) + (x + 3) = 4x + 6

⇒ A = 4x + 6

⇒ x = (A – 6)/4      ---(i)

The largest integer = x + 3      ---(ii)

Substituting (i) in (ii),

The largest integer = {(A - 6)/4} + 3

⇒ (A – 6 + 12)/4

⇒ (A + 6)/4

∴ The largest of those integers in terms of A is (A + 6)/4.
