Correct Answer - Option 2 : 2500

Given:

The population of a village is 5500

Number of males increases by 11%

Number of females increases by 20%

Final Population = 6330

Calculation:

Let the population of females in the village be x

Now, According to the question,

Number of males in the village = (5500 - x)

Again according to the question

(5500 - x) × 111% + x × 120% = 6330

⇒ 111(5500 - x) + 120x = 6330 × 100

⇒ 111 × 5500 - 111x + 120x = 6330 × 100

⇒ 9x = 633000 - 610500

⇒ 9x = 22500

⇒ x = 2500

∴ The population of females in the village is 2500.
