Correct Answer - Option 1 : 243 ≤ N ≤ 252

Calculation:

Let maximum marks of an examination be N.

Passing marks of an examination = 45N/100 = 9N/20

A's marks = 36

Pass marks of A reduced by = 100 - 68 = 32%

⇒ A's marks = 32/100 × 45/100 × N = 36

⇒ N = 250

∴ Total marks is in between = 243 ≤ N ≤ 252.
