Explanation

As per clause number 3.8 of IS 800:2007, table number 3:

i) The maximum effective slenderness ratio for the members always under tension (other than pre-tensioned members) shall not exceed 400

ii) Code also recommends that the tension members such as bracing’s pre-tensioned members to avoid sag, need not to be satisfy the maximum slenderness ratio limits.
