Correct Answer - Option 1 : 5

Given:

x2 + y2 + z+ 6x - 4y + 16z + 29 = 0

Formula Used:

(x + y)2 = x2 + y2 + 2xy

Calculations:

x2 + y2 + z+ 6x - 4y + 16z + 29 = 0

⇒ x2 + 2 × 3x + 9 + y2 - 2 × 2y + 4 + z2 + 2 × 4z + 16 = 0

⇒ (x + 3)2 + (y - 2)2 + (z + 4)2 = 0

⇒ (x + 3)2 = 0, (y - 2)2 = 0, (z + 4)2 = 0

⇒ x = -3, y = 2, z = -4

Now, x + 2y - z = -3 + 2 × 2 - (-4)

⇒ x + 2y - z = -3 + 4 + 4

⇒ x + 2y - z = 5

∴ The value of x + 2y - z is 5.
