  • Green Revolution:

    • It is started in the 1960s during the gap of five-year plans.
    • It is the package program for agricultural production, and to increase productivity.
    • Green Revolution in India was commenced in 1965-66, which led to an increase in food grain production, especially in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. 
    • The program adopted modern methods and technology:
      • Such as the use of high yielding variety (HYV) seeds, irrigation facilities, tractors, pesticides, and fertilizers(NPK).
    • It was mainly found by M.S. Swaminathan.​
