Correct Answer - Option 1 : 21

The correct answer is Article 21.

  • Article 21 includes within its ambit the right to live with human dignity and all those aspects of life which go to make a man’s life meaningful, complete and worth living.
  • This right is available to both citizens and non-citizens.
  • It has introduced the American expression ‘due process of law’.
  • In effect, the protection under Article 21 should be available not only against arbitrary executive action but also against arbitrary legislative action.
  • Following are the few rights declared as part of Article 21 by the Supreme Court :
    • Right to live with human dignity.
    • Right to a decent environment including pollution-free water and air and protection against hazardous industries.
    • Right against bonded labour
    • Right to sleep
    • Right to sustainable development etc.

  • Article 49-To protect monuments, places and objects of artistic or historic interest which are declared to be of national importance.
  • Article 370- Till 2019, the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir had its own constitution and thus enjoyed a special status by virtue of Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
  • Article 73 - The Indian Constitution provides that the executive power of the Union extends to matters concerning which the Parliament can make laws.
