Most of these children are often in regular classrooms trying to cope with their problems (themselves) without being understood. Many disciplinary issues in schools are caused by emotional disturbances, implying that emotion has no place in the classroom.

• The teacher has to look for causes at school, home or within the child. To understand the child the teacher needs to be friendly with the child so that he can talk freely about his problems.
