Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 3 : 500

Given,

The marks = 45%

He got = 145 marks

And failed = 80 marks

Calculation

Given that the students got 145 marks and still he failed by 80 marks

⇒ The minimum pass mark = 145 + 80 = 225

Given that minimum pass mark = 45% of the entire mark

⇒ The total mark × 45/100 = 225

⇒ The total mark = 22500/45 = 500

∴ The total number = 500
