Correct Answer - Option 4 : 6 L, 4 L

Given∶

Two sugarcane juices having 50% and 25% pure juices.

Formula Used∶

Basics of linear Equations.

Calculation∶

Let x litres of 50% pure juice be mixed with y litres of 25% of pure juice.

Then, x + y = 10      ---(1)

And 50% of x + 25% of y = 40% of 10

⇒ (50x/100) + (25y/100) = (40 × 10/100)

⇒ 2x + y = 16      ---(2)

On subtracting eq.(1) from eq.(2), we get,

x = 6

Put x = 6 in eq. (1)

x + y = 10

y = 4

∴ 6 litres of 50% pure juice be mixed with 4 liters of 25% pure juice. The correct option is (4).
