Anil alone can complete a work in 12 days and Arjun alone can complete the same work in 24 days. If the total amount to be given for this work is Rs. 6600. What will be the share of Anil if both do the work together?

Given:

Anil can complete a work in = 12 days

Arjun can complete the work in = 24 days

Total wages = Rs. 6600

Calculation:

Anil’s 1 day’s work = 1/12

Arjun’s 1 day’s work = 1/24

∴ The ratio of their wages = 1/12 : 1/24

⇒ 2 : 1

∴ let the wages of Anil be 2x and that of Arjun be x

∴ According to the question:

⇒ 2x + x = 6600

⇒ 3x = 6600

⇒ x = 2200

∴ wages of Anil = 2 × 2200

⇒ Rs. 4400

∴ Share of Anil if both work together is Rs. 4400.
