  • It was the first time an Indian flag was flown in a foreign country, and it served as a model for the Indian tricolor.
  • Following the assassination of Sir Curzon Wyllie in 1909, Cama relocated to Paris and started publishing Bande Mataram, a monthly publication.

  • Aruna Asaf Ali was a prominent figure in India's independence movement, and she is best known for hoisting the Indian national flag at the Gowalia Tank Maidan in Bombay during the Quit India Movement in 1942. She stayed involved in politics after independence, eventually becoming Delhi's first Mayor.
  • Sarojini Naidu was a key figure in India's fight for freedom from colonial rule, advocating for equal rights, women's emancipation, and anti-imperialist ideas.
