Correct Answer - Option 1 :  2 : 15

Given:

A 's income is 60% less than B's income.

A's expenditure is 60% of B's expenditure.

A 's income if 70% of B's expenditure.

Concept used:

Percentage

Calculation:

Let B's expenditure be 100x

A's income = 40x

B's expenditure = 100y

A's expenditure = 60y

As per the question,

A's income = 70% of B 's expenditure

⇒ 40x = (70/100) × 100y

⇒ \(x = \frac{7}{4}y\)

Savings of A = Income - Expenditure

Savings of A = 40x - 60y

⇒ \(40 \times \frac{7}{4}y - 60y\)

⇒ 70y - 60y = 10y

Saving of B = 100x - 100y

⇒ \(100 \times \frac{7}{4}y - 100y\)

⇒ 175y - 100y = 75y

Required Ratio = \(\frac{{10y}}{{75y}} = \frac{2}{{15}}\)

∴ Ans : 2 : 15
