Given:

20% of (x + y) = 25% of (x - y)

Formula used:

Percentage = (Obtained value/Total value) × 100

Calculation:

20% of (x + y) = 25% of (x - y)

⇒ 20(x + y) = 25(x - y)

⇒ 20x + 20y = 25x - 25y

⇒ 20y + 25y = 25x - 20x

⇒ 45y = 5x

⇒ x = 9y

Now, Percentage = (Obtained value/Total value) × 100

⇒ (x/y) × 100

⇒ (9y/y) × 100 

⇒ 900%
