Correct Answer - Option 4 : 10.67 kg

Given:

The ratio of copper and zinc is 9 : 4

Copper present in the alloy is 24 kg

Concept Used:

Concept of ratio and proportion

Calculation:

Let, the amount of copper and zinc in the alloy is 9x and 4x

Accordingly,

9x = 24

⇒ x = 24/9 = 8/3

Then, 4x = 4 × (8/3) = 32/3 = 10.666 ≈ 10.67

∴ The amount of zinc present in the alloy is 10.67 kg.
