Correct Answer - Option 2 : 1035

Given:

Avg of 5 states’ polling stations = 443.4

First + Second + Third + Fifth = 419.25

Fourth: fifth = 12: 23

Calculation:

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 443.4 × 5

⇒ Total number of polling stations = 2217

1 + 2 + 3 + 5 = 419.25 × 4

⇒ 1 + 2 + 3 + 5 = 1677

Fourth state number of polling station = 2217 – 1677

⇒ Fourth state number of polling station = 540

⇒ Fifth state number of polling station = 540 × 23/ 12

⇒ Fifth state number of polling station = 1035

∴ 1035 polling station
