    • He was the Project Director of India’s first satellite Rohini.
    • He was the chief of the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program and developed 5 missiles: Nag, Akash, Trishul, Agni, Prithvi.
  • Kalam also made significant contributions to the nuclear capabilities of India.
    • The Pokhran -2 nuclear tests (in 1998) were successful thanks to his organizational and technical support.
  • He passed away due to an unfortunate cardiac arrest minutes after delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong on May 27, 2015.

  • Padmanabha Krishnagopala Iyengar was an Indian nuclear physicist.
  • He has a central role in the development of the nuclear program of India.

  • Dr. Iyengar was also involved in the development of the fast reactor assembly, (Purnima-1).

  • India's first physicist to win a Nobel Physics Prize in 1930. for his work on the scattering of light.
  • This discovery of the effect named after him (Raman Effect).
  • He further established that a small portion of the scattered light acquires other wavelengths than that of the original light because some of the incoming photons' energy can be transferred to a molecule, giving it a higher level of energy.
Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose
  • He is an Indian plant physiologist and physicist whose invention of highly sensitive instruments for the detection of minute responses by plant tissues noted by later biophysicists.
  • He showed experimentally plants too have life. He invented an instrument to record the pulse of plants and connected it to a plant.
  •  He fabricated a highly sensitive "coherer", the device that detects radio waves.
