Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 175.50

Given:

Price per kg of variety 1 = Rs. 135/kg

Price per kg of variety 2 = Rs. 126/kg

The ratio of the mixture of the three varieties = 1 ∶ 1 ∶ 2

Price of the mixture = Rs. 153/kg

Concept used:

Total price of the mixture (CP) = (1/4) × price of variety 1 + (1/4) × price of variety 2 + (2/4) × price of variety 3

Calculation:

Let the cost price of the third variety be Rs x.

Total price of the mixture (CP) = (1/4) × price of variety 1 + (1/4) × price of variety 2 + (2/4) × price of variety 3

153 = (1/4) × 135 + (1/4) × 126 + (2/4) × x

⇒ 153 = 33.75 + 31.5 + 0.5x

⇒ x = 87.75 × 2 = Rs. 175.5/kg

∴ The price of the third variety is Rs 175.5 per kg.
