    • Deo Khel and Hulki Dance is a religious dance.
    • It is believed that the dancer known as the Gur enters a state of trance.
    • Once the Gur starts dancing, he leads a procession through the city.
    • The palanquin of the deity is followed by the locals.

  • Men’s folk dances
    • Bandhu or ghost dance:
      • This is a typical men’s dance style because of the coarse songs and behaviour of the dancers which is the main aspect of the dance.
      • Women are not allowed to see this dance. it is performed in January in the early hours of the morning like 4 am to 6 am.
      • Dancers get together in the temple carrying torches.
      • Before the temple, a campfire is lit which is called the ‘Jagra’.
      • The dance is to ward off evil spirits so that people can live peacefully.
    • Horn dance:
      • This is a winter dance, performed during the cold and dark nights of January.
      • There is a fascinating tale behind this dance.
        • It is said this dance was performed to get rid of an evil king.
      • When the king was entranced by the dance, one of the dancers cut his throat.
      • This dance involves six dancers.
      • One of the dancers is dressed as a woman and two others are dressed as deer, covering themselves with a shawl along with horns.
      • The dance is performed in a temple.
