Reason (R): Effectiveness of teaching-learning systems is a pre-requisite for all levels of education.

Correct Answer - Option 1 : Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is the correct explanation of (A)

Effective Teaching

  • Effective teaching can be defined in many ways including teacher behaviour (warmth, civility, clarity), teacher knowledge (of subject matter, of students), teacher beliefs, and so forth. Here we define effective teaching as the ability to improve student achievement.
  •  Effective teachers strive to motivate and engage all their students in learning rather than simply accepting that some students cannot be engaged and are destined to do poorly. They believe every student is capable of achieving success at school and they do all they can to find ways of making each student successful.
  • The classroom is a dynamic environment, bringing together students from different backgrounds with various abilities and personalities. Being an effective teacher, therefore, requires the implementation of creative and innovative teaching strategies in order to meet students’ individual needs.

The impact of planning on the teaching-learning process:

  • Planning in the context of education entails the process of setting objectives and determining the means to achieving the objectives.
  • It entails deciding in advance what to be taught, how to teach when to teach, who is being taught, and the evaluation of the recipient.
  • Planning is the beginning of the teaching and learning process before a teacher goes to the class to deliver any lesson.
  • Through planning for a lesson makes the teaching-learning encounter a valuable and productive impact. Conversely, no planning leads to a wasteful and unproductive lesson. The motion pervades education at all levels and in all subject areas

Conclusion:

  • There appears to be a widespread agreement not only on the value of planning but also on the substance and format of plans.
  • The plan that enlisted universal acceptance contains the purposes, experiences, and their organization and evaluation.
  • If a lesson is to be effective, the teacher needs to make decisions in these areas before the lesson.
  • Hence, both the statements are given are true and statement R is the true explanation of statement A.
