Correct Answer - Option 2 : 12 km

Given:

Total distance covered = 22 km

Time taken = 4 hours

Speed of man when walking = 4 km/hr

Speed of man when hogging = 10 km/hr

Formula used:

Distance = Speed × Time

Calculation:

Let the walking time of the man be x hours then jogging time be (4 – x) hours

Now, A/Q

Speed × Time = Distance

⇒ 4x + 10(4 – x) = 22

⇒ 4x + 40 – 10x = 22

⇒ 6x = 18

⇒ x = 3

Distance covered by man during walking = 4 × 3 = 12

∴ The distance covered by man during walking is 12 km
