“लेकिन मेरे जैसे वायदे उसके धुंधले संसार में सब ओर भरे हुए हैं।” समझाइये।

Through this statement, the author throws light on the gloomy world of poor children. Every day, new promises are made to improve their lot, but none of them is implied. Law promises them health and education but they do not get these in reality. 

इस कथन के माध्यम से लेखिका गरीब बच्चों के दुःखपूर्ण संसार पर प्रकाश डालती है। हर रोज, उनकी दशा सुधारने के नये-नये वादे किये जाते हैं, लेकिन उनमें से किसी को लागू नहीं किया जाता है। कानून के द्वारा उनके स्वास्थ्य व शिक्षा की व्यवस्था है परन्तु वास्तव में उन्हें ये दोनों ही नहीं मिलते हैं।

The narrator made promise to saheb.But the promise was not meant to be kept.
Then, the author realises her mistake and feels that saheb's life is already filled with such promises.But, the promises were never fulfilled.His world remains as gloomy as ever because promises are made and forgotten.
