The equation of a line intercept form is

\(\frac{x}{a}+\frac{y}{b}=1\)

Given, b = 2

∴ (1) ⇒ \(\frac{x}{a}+\frac{y}{2a}=1\)

⇒ 2x + y = 2α

Since the line passes though the point

(1, 2), 2. 1 + 2 = 2a ⇒ a = 2

∴ Equation of the line is

2x + y – 4 = 0.
