जैसा कि चित्र से स्पष्ट हैं , इसकी दोनों वक्रता - त्रिज्याएँ `R_(1)` तथा `R_(2)` धनात्मक हैं । यहाँ `R_(1)` तथा `R_(2)` धनात्मक हैं । यहाँ `R_(1)` = +10cm , `R_(2) = +20 cm` तथा n = 1.5. अतः , फोकस - दूरी , f के लिए ,
`(1)/(f) = (n-1) ((1)/(R_(1)) - (1)/(R_(2))) = (1.5 - 1) ((1)/(10cm) - (1)/(20cm))`
` = 0.5 xx (1)/(20 cm ) = (1)/(40 cm)`
