Correct option is (D) 17 cm

Two circles \(C_1\;\&\;C_2\) having radii 12 cm and 5 cm touches externally at point A.

\(O_1A\) = radius of circle \(C_1\) = 12 cm

and \(O_2A\) = Radius of circle \(C_2\) = 5 cm

\(\therefore\) \(O_1O_2=O_1A+O_2A\)

= (12+5) cm

= 17 cm
