Correct Answer - Option 2 : Teaching is a process, not a product
  • Teaching has been looked upon as a process of imparting knowledge and skills to the learner by simplifying the environment for him and at the same time strengthen him with knowledge and attitudes to meet the environment with its growing complexities.
  • It is a lifelong process of modification of behavior through every experience of life. In this sense, education is imparted by every person to anybody, at any time, at any place, and anyway, it aims at the total development of the person.

Following are some views of proponents about teaching-

  • The teaching is necessary, but not a sufficient condition to contribute to individual productivity. They believe that the specific skills required in a profession are acquired on the job rather than at school.
  • In the teaching-learning process, the main aim of the teacher teaches the students to fulfill their needs and desires of learning so that someone must learn something about the concept.
  • Teaching is the process of drawing the relationship between the teacher and the concepts are being taught by the teacher (learning). This relationship is being drawn to keen learners as a center of learning.
  • The result of teaching depends upon the achievement of learners and how much they learned or grasp the concept successfully. It is not possible that the result of the teaching is all the student must learn, the learning all depends upon the need and interest of the child.
  • It involves establishing goals and drawing out of the best in child and man-body, mind and spirit.
  • Hence, we can conclude from the above information, teaching is a process and not a product because teaching is not limited to classrooms.
