Correct Answer - Option 1 : 14 km/hr

Given

Speed = 2 km/hr. slower than usual time = 7/6th of his usual time.

Formula Used

Distance = Speed × Time

Calculation

Let his normal speed be x km/hr.

Decreased speed = (x -2) km/hr.

let his usual time be 't' hours

Then, on decreasing speed, he takes 7/6th of his usual time 't'.

But, distance travelled on both sides is same.

∴ (x -2) × 7/6 × t = t × x

⇒ 7x - 14 = 6x

⇒ x = 14 km/hr.

∴ His normal walking rate = 14 km/hr.
