Correct Answer - Option 2 : 40

Given:

The area of trapezium = 700 cm2

Sum of parallel sides of trapezium = 35 cm.

Formula used:

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × (distance between parallel sides)

Calculations:

Let the distance between the parallel sides of the trapezium be 'h'.

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × (distance between parallel sides)

⇒ 700 = 1/2 × (35) × (h)

⇒ h = 40

∴ The distance between the parallel sides of the trapezium is 40 cm.
