Correct Answer - Option 1 : ₹ 290

66.67% = 2/3

Suppose the price of a pencil is 3x, then, the price of a pen will be 5x.

Now, the price of an eraser will be = 2/3 × 3x = 2x

According to question –

⇒ Price of five pens – Price of ten eraser = 25

⇒ (5 × 5x) – (10 × 2x) = 25

⇒ 25x – 20x = 25

⇒ 5x = 25

⇒ x = 25/5

⇒ x = 5

∴ The price of a pen = 5x = ₹ 25

The price of a pencil = 3x = ₹ 15

The price of an eraser = 2x = ₹ 10

According to question –

The cost of seven pens, five pencils and four erasers = (7 × 25) + (5 × 15) + (4 × 10)

⇒ 175 + 75 + 40

⇒ ₹ 290

∴ the required cost = ₹ 290
