Correct Answer - Option 3 : 50 paise

Given:

Price of banana decreased = 20%

5 bananas more can be purchased in = Rs. 10

Calculation:

Let the CP of each banana be x

Total number of banana in Rs. 10 = 10/x

New price = x – (20/100) × x = 80x/100 = 4x/5

New number of bananas in Rs. 10 = 10/(4x/5) = 25/2x

⇒ (25/2x) – (10/x) = 5

⇒ 10x = 5

⇒ x = 5/10

⇒ x = 1/2

⇒ 50 paise

∴ The initial price of one banana is 50 paise
