Correct Answer - Option 2 : 10 to 12

A stage of development is an aging period when certain needs, behaviors, experiences, and capabilities are common and different from other age periods. Here are some behaviors you might expect to see at certain stages.

  •  Walking is one of the important milestones in a child's life and most parents wait eagerly to see their child walking. But toddlers' gross motor skills take their own time to develop.
  • First, there will be crawling, then scooting and at the final stage they will begin to walk on their own.
  • From the time child starts to roll on its own to the time he/she starts running around the house, it usually takes 10 to 12  months for the child to take his first step in walking.
  • Some babies are fast and start walking in 9 months, while others take 14 months.

Thus, it is concluded that It takes a maturation period of 10 to 12  months for the child to take his first step in walking.
