Dr. Verghese Kurien was born on November 26, 1921, in Calicut (now Kozhikode), Kerala.

Dr. Kurien’s billion-liter idea gave birth to the world’s largest agricultural dairy development program, which made dairy farming India's largest self-sustaining industry.

Fondly known as the Milkman of India, Dr. Kurien is the man behind the flourishing state of Indian milk and the dairy industry.

Norman Ernest Borlaug was an American agronomist who led initiatives worldwide that contributed to the extensive increases in agricultural production termed the Green Revolution.
