Correct Answer - Option 2 : 17 and 16

Given:

Difference between the square of two consecutive numbers = 33

Concept used:

If the difference between the square of two consecutive numbers is N, then the greater number is (N + 1)/2 and the smaller number is (N - 1)/2.

Calculation:

As we know that, N= 33

Greater Number = (N + 1)/2

⇒ (33 + 1)/2

⇒ 17

Smaller Number = (N - 1)/2

⇒ (33 - 1)/2

⇒ 16

∴ The Greater number is 17 and the smaller number is 16.
