Correct Answer - Option 4 : 431.2 m2

GIVEN:

Diameter = 19.6 m

Height = 10 m

CONCEPT:

The area of canvas required to build a conical tent is equal to its lateral surface area.

FORMULA USED:

L.S.A of cone = πrl

l2 = h2 + r2

CALCULATION:

r = 19.6/2 = 9.8 m

l2 = 102 + 9.82 ≈ 196

l = 14 m

L.S.A = 22/7 × 9.8 × 14

L.S.A = 431.2 m2

∴ The answer is 431.2 m2
