Correct Answer - Option 1 : 2 days

Given:

Working together X, Y, Z can complete a particular task in 5 days.

The ratio of the efficiencies of X, Y, Z are in the ratio of 6 : 7 : 11.

Y and Z worked on the task for 6 days.

Concept Used:

Total work is done = (Total time taken) × (Total Efficiency)

Calculation:

As given the efficiency of X, Y, Z is 6 : 7 : 11 and they can complete the work together in 5 days.

⇒ Total work done = (6 + 7 + 11) × 5

⇒ Total work is done = 120 units

Now Y and Z worked for 5 days, the work done by them in 6 days will be

⇒ The work is done in 6 days by Y and Z = (7 + 11) × 6

⇒ The work done = 18 × 6 = 108 unit

Now the remaining work is done by X in

⇒ Remaining work = 120 – 108 = 12 unit

⇒ Time by X = 12/6 = 2 days

∴ The time taken by X to complete the remaining work is 2 days.
