Correct Answer - Option 3 : 3 : 4

Given:

Salary of A = 75% Salary of B

Expenditure of A = 75% Expenditure of B

Concept Used:

1% = 1/100

Saving = Salary – Expenditure

Calculation:

Salary of A = 75% Salary of B

⇒ Salary of A = 75/100 Salary of B

⇒ Salary of A/Salary of B = 3/4

Let the salary of A be 3y,

then the salary of B will be 4y

Expenditure of A = 75% Expenditure of B

⇒ Expenditure of A = 3/4 Expenditure of B

⇒ Expenditure of A/Expenditure of B = 3/4

Let the expenditure of A be 3x,

then the expenditure of B will be 4x.

Saving = Salary – Expenditure

SavingA = 3y – 3x

⇒ SavingA = 3(y – x)

SavingB = 4y – 4x

⇒ SavingB = 4(y – x)

⇒ SavingA : SavingB = 3(y – x) : 4(y – x)

⇒ SavingA : SavingB = 3 : 4

∴ The ratio of saving of A and B is 3 : 4.
